The Third Planet, Exploring The Earth From Space Written and Signed by Sally K. Ride, America's First Female Astronaut to Fly in Space. Mint Condition!
Serving as a Mission Specialist on STS-7, Sally Ride made history by becoming the first American female to fly in space in 1983. She again flew in space in 1984 and was training for a third flight when the shuttle Challenger was lost in 1986. After serving with distinction on the committee investigating the accident, she retired from NASA in 1987. Today she teaches physics at a major university. In every respect, she is a true American heroine.
Item is a hardback book published by Ms. Ride in 1994 (48 pages, measures8 ½” x 11 ½”). Along with an informative text, the book has scores of beautiful Earth photographs taken from the shuttle. This will make a nice addition to your library or a perfect gift to the science buff on your list. It did not have a big following so of the four books she has written, this is the more difficult to obtain. Book is in MINT condition. It is a second edition, first printing work. Dr. Ride has boldly signed the title page in black ink.

Shipping Information:
I don’t like paying shipping any more than you do. In reality I only break even or oftentimes lose money with every item that I ship. But that is my commitment to my buyers for safe, secure and inexpensive shipping. I will happily combine shipping for multiple purchases. Books are individually wrapped in bubble wrap and tape. The book is then packed with peanuts inside a box to prevent any damage during shipping. Domestic priority S&H is $8.00 (USPS Flat Rate is $8.95), international 1st class shipping is $17, $14 for our friends in Canada. Thanks for visiting my auction and good luck with your bidding!
