1st U.S. Female Astronaut To Fly in Space Sally Ride Autographed Challenger in Orbit Photograph! MINT!
Sally K. Ride was among the first group of female astronauts selected by NASA. A Group 8 selection, she joined the astronaut corps in 1978. On June 18, 1983 Ride made history by being the first U.S. female Astronaut to fly in space. She served as a Mission Specialist on the six-day flight of STS-7. She would again fly in space on STS-41G in 1984. She was training for her third flight when the Challenger disaster struck grounding her and the shuttle program for years. She would eventually serve at NASA headquarters before retiring from NASA. Today, she makes a home in California and is deeply involved in helping young women develop an interest in engineering and technology through her foundation and space camps.
Item is an 8 X 10” photograph (chemically processed on Kodak Royal paper) of the Orbiter Challenger STS-7 in earth orbit. The Earth’s clouds and ocean provide stunning backdrop. The robot arm is deployed out of the bay doors. This would make a beautiful display piece. The photo is in MINT condition, no cuts, tears, folds or discolorations of any kind. This is Dr. Ride’s ACTUAL autograph, not a copy or autopen. She has also added “STS-7.” Bob Crippen was the commander of STS-7 and signs freely through the mail and other crewmembers can easily be added.

Shipping Information:
I don’t like paying shipping any more than you do. In reality I only break even or oftentimes lose money with every item that I ship. But that is my commitment to my buyers for safe, secure and inexpensive shipping. I will happily combine shipping for multiple purchases. Photographs are triple protected placed inside a plastic cover, sandwiched in a manila folder and packed between two stiff cardboards. The outside of the package is marked clearly DO NOT BEND! First class S&H is $3 domestic; international rates are $5.00 for 1st class global, $4.00 for our friends in Canada. Thanks for visiting my auction and good luck with your bidding!
