Tor Books First Edition
Description: Hardback book published by Tor Books in 1996. The copyright page states 'First Edition: September 1996' and the printing status bar is complete, making this a first printing. Inscribed 'for Ron Worldcon 96' by Marion Zimmer Bradley on the title page. Inscribed 'For Ron Worldcon 98' by Rosemary Edghill on the title page. Although it only has Marion Zimmer Bradley's name on it, this is actually the work of Rosemary Edghill (also known as Eluki Bes Shahar). As far as I know, the last book written solely by Marion was The Heirs of Hammerfell (1989). Because of health problems everything after that was primarily written by other excellent (if not as well known) authors using her name. Great full wraparound cover art.

Synopsis: Winter Musgrave has a hectic but normal existence as a New York stockbroker--until she wakes up one morning in an upstate farmhouse with little memory of her life. Winter suspects that the interlude has something to do with the magic that she and a group of friends experimented with in college. By seeking them out, Winter hopes to regain her memory and stabilize her life.
Publisher's Note: Seeking help in discovering the secrets of her past, Winter Musgrave turns to Truth Joudemayne and learns that she must reconstruct the magickal circle of friends she had in college to end the evil surrounding her and save her life.
Condition: Binding - very good plus, top and bottom of spine bumped, very slight soiling and faint spotting of the page edges, slight edgewear. Dust Jacket - near fine, minor edgewear, a little wrinkling at top and bottom of spine, otherwise like new, not price clipped, in dust jacket protector.

Note on first editions:
If this book is listed as a first edition, it will also be a first printing. We do not consider later printings to be first editions.
We know the difference between a publisher's edition and a book club edition and will always disclose book club editions. If we aren't sure, we will so indicate.

A Note On Customs:
When customs forms are required for a shipment, we fill them out honestly, stating that the contents are merchandise and giving the price you paid for the item (not including the shipping) as the value. Please do not ask us to do otherwise. Take any customs duty that you will have to pay into consideration before making your purchase.
Please note that many countries have restrictions on the import of certain goods and sometimes on the maximum value that can be shipped to the country by various shipping methods. Priority Mail International insurance cannot be purchased for all countries and some limit the amount of insurance that can be purchased (default indemnity coverage seems to apply to all countries). Click on the link below and then click on the number that comes after your country name to review the details for shipping to your destination.

Shipping History:
We have shipped well over 3,000 packages (containing more than 5,700 items), with more than 500 of those packages going to international destinations, since we started selling on in 2002 (Click here to see where we've shipped). As of September 16, 2009, we have had only five packages reported as lost, three to U.S. destinations and two to international destinations (Australia and Spain - destinations we have also shippped to successfully many times). We have not had a report of a book damaged in transit since shortly after we started selling (it took us a couple of damaged shipments to learn not to pack books in boxes that were too tight a fit).

California Sales Tax
Items shipped to addresses outside California are not subject to sales tax.
Unless you are a reseller with a valid California Seller's Permit buying this item to resell, we are required by California law to collect sales tax for all items shipped to or delivered to addresses in California or picked up from our location. The checkout system cannot handle the complexities of sales tax in California where the sales tax rate varies by where the item is being delivered. We have setup the shipping calculator to charge sales tax at 9.5% for those who do not want to wait for us to invoice you. If you wait for our invoice, we will adjust the sales tax to be correct for the location you say we will be shipping to.
California resellers need to provide us with your permit number before we can remove the sales tax from your invoice.
