Upon auction close, you will be sent an invoice indicating final value of the specimen, applicable taxes (Arizona) along with shipping & insurance options. Payments must be made within 10 days of auction close unless other arrangements have been made with Open Adit West. If payment is going to be delayed for any reason including bidding on additional specimens, please e-mail and let us know. Communication is paramount! Payment can be made by money order, personal or cashiers check payable in U.S. dollars. Personal checks from customers new to Open Adit West are held for 10 days. All items purchased from Open Adit West Rocks & Minerals are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to you upon our delivery to the carrier. By using the shipping calculator below, you will be able to accurately figure your shipping costs. Any additional packing weight necessary for shipping has already been added to the weight of the specimen so there are no "hidden" shipping charges after the auction has ended. Your order will be processed and shipped as soon as payment arrives. Our regular shipping days are Tuesday and Friday. Orders received after 12pm Friday will ship on the following Tuesday. In the event our normal shipping day falls on a U.S. National holiday, your order will sent out the next business day.

We will ship USPS Parcel Post or USPS Priority Mail . We recommend shipping insurance to protect your order. Open Adit West utilizes USPS Delivery Confirmation to ensure your specimens are delivered to the address you provide.

In the event that multiple specimens are won, we can sometimes combine item shipping costs depending on the size of the specimens to ensure you receive the lowest rate possible. It is recommended that all International shipments be insured for the value of the winning bid.

We make every attempt to describe the items listed as completely & accurately as possible. This includes locality information. We do not believe in adding paragraphs of irrelevant information to the description, guessing or making up what localities we think the specimen may have originated to try and sell it.
