2 ALCOHOL STOVES ~ WINDSCREENS~ SS CUPS, HIKING MRE

Have you ever been Elk or deer hunting in the mountains when there is snow on the ground or everything is wet and you're lost? I've been there when it got well below zero at night and it's pretty scary when you get disoriented. A few survival items in your backpack can make a life or death difference and give you plenty of confidence. Plan ahead a little and you can survive. No matter how wet the wood is, you can always start an alcohol stove, boil a little water for ramen noodles or whatever dehydrated food you like and you can survive with a little pre planning and of course the proper equipment in your emergency kit.  

The preferred fuels are:

Denatured alcohol (methylated spirits)

Methyl Alcohol

Ethyl Alcohol

HEET gasline antifreeze, (in the yellow bottle)

Please, no gasoline or Coleman fuel. Adult supervision required

Your new alcohol stove is easy to use and comes with instructions. The stove only weighs a smidge over 10 grams.  

These put out an awesome amount of heat in seconds and you'll love it the first time it's used.

The stoves are made from recycled beverage cans so may have a few small dings or mars (experience marks), this is normal and will not affect the useability of the item. They are 100% recyclable including the windscreen which can double as a pot stand.

The windscreen stands approx 3 1/4" tall and is about 14" long when flattened. The circle is about 4" across. It is normal for the windscreen to turn brown or black after heating and will become annealed, so it will have a tendency to stay in the round shape, this is normal, but it can still be flattened.

The 20 oz cup is made of thin stainless steel so it heats quickly and is lightweight. I only use the cup for cooking or boiling, metal cups get too hot for most people to drink from.

Every outdoorsman should carry one of these and a little flask of alcohol for "just in case" or for a quick hot lunch. A couple tablespoons of alcohol in the stove will warm those cold hands quickly, just be careful as the flame is invisible in daylight. The perfect gift for your outdoors buddies or any ice fisherman or duck hunter. You can use this stove in place of solid fuel stoves if you like their pot stand, but not the fuel.

It's hard to give specs on the stoves as I don't know where they end up being used. It varies depending on weather and altitude. I live in the Ozarks and the Lake of the Ozarks is only 660' above sea level, so if you're hunting on Gannett Peak in Wyoming or Pikes Peak in Colorado, the performance will vary, but rest assured the little stove will perform great. I timed one here because people have asked for something to go by.

The stove takes about a minute or so to blossom. When cooking on the windscreen as a potstand, I.5 oz alcohol will bring 2 cups of water to the boiling point in about 4 minutes and 7 minutes to a rolling boil. It will cook about 3.5 to 4 minutes more after that. If more time is needed you can use up to 2 oz of alcohol safely. If you cook directly on the stove it will come to a boil a little slower and cook longer. I've had 2 oz actually last up to 29 minutes under perfect conditions. That's way too long to cook most meals, but you can bake a cupcake or biscuits, fry eggs or roast marshmallows, there's plenty of heat to manipulate. I like to cook a regular meal once in awhile rather than live on noodles so I carry 2 stoves. I can cook 2 things at once and they don't weigh enough to make any difference. I always carry extra alcohol anyway in case of a spill.
