UP FOR AUCTION ARE TWO, VERY UNUSUAL BROOCHES DONE IN ART DECO STYLE. BOTH ARE OF A MAN OR WOMAN FIGURAL, ONE IN BLACK, SILVER AND WHITE ENAMEL AND THE OTHER IN GOLD AND TAN ENAMELING.

MARKINGS: None that I could see but the C style clasp is the same type that is used in some of the imported jewelry. My guess is French but I could be mistaken.

ITEM DESCRIPTION: The original listing was for only one of these brooches but I have since then acquired another one. The brooches measures 3 1/4" in length and 1 3/8" in width at the widest point. The metal is silver tone with black and white enamel on one and gold tone with tan enamel on the other. The pants on either one look like polka dots and are black enamel with silver dots and tan with gold dots. The top has very puffy sleeves that are much like the French Poet style, with tuxedo banding in white enamel on one and tan enamel on the other. The one in the tan enameling has a faint glitter effect to the enamel that can be seen on magnification.

CONDITION: The condition is very good but a tiny bit tarnished on both. I did give them both a bath in the ionic jewelry cleaner for picture purposes only.
