2 ~ Antique/Vintage Dolls ~ 5" & 9"

This auction is for a Pair of Vintage/Antique Dolls.

One stands about 5 1/2" tall and the other about 9 1/2" tall.

The larger doll has arms and legs which are of a stuffed sewn cloth. We aren't sure what the one piece body and head is made of but it may be bisque or chalk (it feels like it might be solid). The body stops at the waistline.

The smaller doll has a composition body. The smaller doll has a bald spot on the back of her head.

The dresses of both dolls have some soiling and fading from age. In both cases the dolls' clothing seems permanently attached to their bodies and so we are unable to determine if either has a maker's mark.

The dress and pantaloons of the larger doll appears to be of either satin or silk and she has a nice lace train which is longer than her dress. The lace does have some damage and holes.

Our sense is that both of these dolls are very collectable, and we hope that those who are more knowledgeable than we are will let us know if we are correct.
