This high-end ALUMINUM dual-drive case has 2 removable drive bays. It provides a fast and easy way for PC or Mac users to add up to 2 SATA hard drives in RAID-1 (mirroring), RAID-0 (striping) or Spanning mode, with IEEE 1394B + USB 2.0 combo outputs to their system.

*HARDWARE RAID* means you don't need to install any RAID software on the computer. RAID funtions are built-in and easily configurable on the enclosure.

Ultra-slim design - 26.5 (L) x 15.5 (H) x 6.5 (W)mm, makes it easy to carry for your work, your home.

The sleek looking drive features a 100-240v auto-switching power supply with a whishper-QUIET 40x40mm cooling fan to keep the drives running cool.

FireWire800 /USB 2.0 dual interfaces, with auto data-rebuild (in RAID-1 mode) make this unit great for graphic design, video and audio editing/backup. 2 FireWire800 1394B ports allow you to connect to additional FireWire/1394 or iLINK devices.


Features:  

  • A true hardware solution, this enclosure requires no software to be installed on your machine.
    It provides 4 hardware RAID modes:
    - RAID 0 (Striping): for two disks with same capacity.
    - Disk Spanning: for two disks with different capacity.
    - RAID 1 (Mirroring): for two disks with same capacity.
    - JBOD (non-RAID): two disks show separately
  • RAID 1 (Mirroring):
    In mirroring mode, it maintains data in two disk drives simultaneously and securely. If one drive fails, it automatically switches operations to the functional drive and alert the failure. Once a new HDD is installed to replace the defective drive, the Mirror Drive will automatically rebuild the entire HDD image in the background, while providing the un-interrupt data connection to the system.

 

 

    *** HOTSWAP REBUILDING (in Mirroring mode only) does not require connection to a computer. Yes, NO computer needed. You don't even need to power down the enclosure.
    1. When both drives in the enclosure are idle, hotswap one, the related LED for the empty slot will turn RED.
    2. Insert a new disk, the enclosure will detect the new drive and start rebuilding automatically.

 

  • RAID 0 (Striping) and Spanning:
    In striping or spanning mode, it integrates two HDDs into a big disk and provides the cost-effective solution for data backup.

 

  • 100-240V Auto-Switching power adapter.    
  • IEEE 1394B (FireWire800)/USB 2.0 compliant and supports Windows 7/2000/XP/VISTA and Mac OS X.
