MARVELOUS UZBEK SILK HANDMADE EMBROIDERED PILLOW CASES "FISHES" – 2 PIECES

All small articles like small bags for tea and salt, scull-hats, pillow-slips and many other objects have been embroidered by Uzbek skilled artisans. Since ancient times small Uzbek handicrafts took one of the main places in our daily lives.

One of the most interesting parts of the Folk Art of Uzbekistan is a pillow-slip production. The Uzbek pillowcases amaze with the great skill of embroidery and a variety of patterns, that's why they've became so popular all over the world.

These are silk handmade embroidered pillow-slips from Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The foundation of the embroidery is a silk-cotton fabric of rep weave. The pillow-slips have a beautiful and colourful design of the central rosette with many fish-like images inside. Amazing fanciful small bloomings in the corners resembling the fishes as well ideally complete the whole design of the item. The pillow-slips have a cut on back side. These are finely worked contemporary pieces with lustrous colors.
