Strong 1950’s Audio

These NOS tubes have been tested for mutual conductance. On my Hickok TV-7 tester they read 50 and 54. A reading of 30 would represent the minimum recommended value. These strong testing General Electric tubes are from late 1950’s USA production. They feature clear glass envelopes, black plates, copper grid pins and rectangular frame getters at the top.

The 6Y6 is an octal-based beam power amplifier tube and is used in the audio output sections of radio receivers. Two of these can deliver over 12 watts of audio when used as a class A1 amplifier.
