This Pair of Burndy precision calibrated crimp tools are in used but excellent condition. If you need perfection they may need recalibration as the last recorded calibrations were in 1976. I used these to crimp many connections in a wire harness project I did a few years back and the result was incredible the hold on the crimps is strong and uniform. Nothing like the crimp tools you find today. When I worked in electronics production in the 70s we called these government spec crimps because we had to use calibrated precision tools for government jobs. The first piece, Catalog number MR8 PVS has 3 crimp sizes 120, 100 and 80 the second piece catalog number MR8EC-2 has two sizes 130 and 90. Between the two there are 5 different sizes and this covers wire crimp ranges from about 26 gauge to 10 gauge.
They were made in Norwalk Conn. of forged aluminum with tool steel replaceable jaws. I would think they are circa 1950s through 1960s but they could be even earlier. I didn’t buy them for collector’s value I needed to use them. Now that I am on a boat I choose to solder all of my electronic connections so another item off to eBay land.
There is never a reserve on my auctions. Happy bidding!
