A Word of Caution:
I have been approached by a number of Chinese (and Indonesian) firms offering knock-off Gillette Mach 3, Mach 3 Turbo and Mach 3 Power blades – all labeled ‘New in Box’. They look real but are not. Most of the other auctions for ‘New in Box’ blades are imitations and not the real item. I would rather buy them unboxed and know they are real than to offer fakes.
From other buyers, I have heard some of the fakes are decent and others are pure junk. To drive these fakers out of the business, I suggest you let any seller you buy from know that you will only leave feedback AFTER you have tried the blades (and I encourage you to do the same with mine). Most will understand the impact of the negative feedback risk and stop selling them. Some, however, simply reopen under a new name. Therefore, here are two bits of advice:
- Go to fakeblades.com ( a site started by some disgruntled buyers) to learn how to spot the fakes
- Beware of brand new sellers with little feedback and lots of blades for sale. They are very likely people who have previously sold fakes and had to reopen with a different name to escape the negative feedback. There are a lot of sellers out there with their profiles stating they have only been members for a few months.
