Okay - I will admit it.  I screwed up.

This auction is for a large tree shear.  I bought this a couple of months ago many states away.  I saw one photo of it and there was nothing in the background that I could use to judge how large it was.  I got it home and fell over - it is big!  I had the wild idea of using it with my Pettibone forklift to shear trees around the farm.  I thought I could cut the top of it off and make an attachment plate on the back where I might even use it with my Gehl skidloader.  Nope - it is way too big.  So I am selling it here on ebay to someone who hopefully can use it.

The shear will cut down up to a 20 inch tree.  I was told when I bought it that it was last used on a John Deere 643D rubber tired loader type forestry unit.  The shear looks to my untrained eye to be in good condition.  I looked all over it for a manufacturers ID plate but I can not find one.

It comes with a set of some sort of extra wear plates.  The last user left the pins on the shear where you attach it to the carrier so you get them as well.  They capped off the hydraulic fittings where you connect them so that should have kept rain and dirt out.  I think it is a good unit.

It is 7 feet tall, 70 inches deep from front to back, and 77 inches wide.  I included a photo of one fine looking farmer standing by it so you would have a gauge of it's size.  I do not know what it weighs, but my 6000 lb capacity forklift would barely pick it up.

Do not buy this and think you can use it on your bobcat!  It needs something a little larger to horse it around.  If you have a real large desk, it would make a nice paperweight, or if you have a black tie ball, it would be a good place for people to place their champagne glasses while they go out for a spin on the ballroom floor.  It is so heavy that they should not fall off even if you shake it.  Lots of uses here.

No reserve!  High bidder gets it!

Bidding starts at $1500.00.

Do not ask me to sell it early, or take less than the starting price. I will not end the auction for a local sale either. I can load it onto anything that you send to pick it up. Delivery for an additional fee is a possibility within 250 miles of Fulton, Mo, 65251. E-mail me for a quote. I have a neighbor kid that helps me on the farm that will deliver stuff sometimes. I require payment in full within one week of auctions end. Once it is paid for, there is no hurry for you to pick it up - take six months if need be! If you don't come get it after six months have passed since the end of the auction, it will be resold, and my wife gets the proceeds. If you have a legitimate reason why you need to wait longer than six months to pick up your purchase, contact me and we will work something out. If you have any questions, you can e-mail or call me at (573) 219-6611. Thanks for looking and please check out my other auctions!

I would prefer that you pick this up, but if you need it shipped, I can strap it onto a pallet and drop it off at any of the shipping companies located in Columbia, Missouri for an additional $150.00.  Sorry for the cost, but I will need to make a pallet out of steel to hold this bad boy.  You will also need to verify that the shipping terminal you use can pick it up.

You will need to get your own shipping quote. Freightquote.com is a great place to get a low cost quote.   Their number is:

I am a cattle farmer here in Mid-Missouri, so I am flexible about when you want to come and get items you have purchased from me, but I try and keep a schedule for my families benefit. I ask that you come between 9:00 in the morning and 4:00 at night. I am not available on Sundays whatsoever - that is God and family day, so don't ask! Just because I am a farmer does not mean that I am here everyday, I travel around to auctions and surplus sales and am gone several times a week. So don't do like some folks have in the past and drive 800 miles to get here and find out I am gone. You must contact me before you just show up! My granny always said that showing up unannounced was rude - you have to give people notice so they can get presentable.

Q: I have a John Deere 310 backhoe; would that be large enough to handle your shear? Thanks; HarryMay-12-08
A: Hello - I really don't think so - that thing is huge! If it did work, you would have to have four wheel drive, and only work on flat solid ground....more
