AnnMarie instilled the energy of Poseidon, God of the sea, in her secret method of enchantment known only to her. This model is from Gibson's world renowned Custom Shop, a timeless beauty crafted in 2003. This is NOT the regular production 8 digit serial number SG. This is a special order from the custom shop with the impressed 6 digit custom shop serial number. They may appear the same to the untrained observer, but the differences are huge-the main two differences are that these are made from very select tonewoods, and are crafted by Gibson's finest luthiers. These special order custom shop creations are made for discerning professional musicians. On that platform we did what Gibson would have loved to do to complete this magic wand. The only original parts on board now are the wood, pickguard, and back cover plate. Everything else is from 1965, or before. EVERYTHING. As you can see this one has a beautiful Brazilian rosewood fretboard that usually only came on the 2003 Rossington Signature reissue. The little sap arteries act like organ tubes when they dry and hollow out, sending tones to the pickups in overdrive speed and vibrancy! Those can be seen as little grooves in the fretboard(see picture below). It has the custom shop case, work permits, greencards, case cabbage, and birthing papers. Also, it now has a metal saddle '64 bridge, instead of the nylon saddle affair you see in the pictures. It sounds even better now! Over 3800 clams in well matched vintage parts on board. The pickups are from 1963-patent number decal, the vibrato from a 65 SG, a 59 trussrod cover, 1964 "kluson deluxe" tuners, M* pickup rings, early style thin switch ring, 1962 knobs, a pot setup with jack and switch from a 65 SG, switch tip is 1962, as are the strap buttons. Even the screws were all changed to 50's early 60's nickel ones. This guitar wipes the stage with other reissue SG's, and fully duplicates the thunder and vibe of a real 1964 SG. If the best is what you require, but don't have an extra 20,000 bucks for a genuine 1964 like George Harrison played, this could be your ticket to the stars, sold as-is, all pay the actual UPS fare, no extras or handling fees. Just set up with new .11 Nashville Straights, very easy to play and extremely resonant. The .11's feel like slinky's on this beautiful neck, a mark of the finest instruments. A true Magic Wand to share the gift of music and love, and that lasts forever! There are no scratches in the finish, no cracks or break repairs, frets are like new, and it plays superb.
