You are bidding on a 2005 De Rosa King X-Light road bicycle frame in Red/White colore scheme, size 52s. This is the sloping geometry, which is the equivalent of a 55-56cm frame. I am selling this beauty because it is a tad too small for me. I purchased the bike in 2006 and have ridden it extensively, but as I have been racing much less, I decided to move on to a bigger frame bicycle.
Structurally, this frame is in excellent condition, it's super stiff, fast and comfortable. As a former professional mechanic, I have taken painstaking care of this bicycle. It is not, however, without cosmetic flaws, as can be seen in the pictures. There are no scuffs to the frame, but paint has chipped away in a few small spots. They are hardly noticeable and of no particular significance.
Please note that the steerer tube has been cut to size and can only accomodate a stem without extra spacers. As far as the sizing goes, I am 5'10" (178cm) with a 30" inseam, and the bike was perfect for races, crits, and shorter distance touring for me. For all-day comfort, the bike is just a little too small for me. A rider looking for a helluva nice cruising bike would be 5'7"-5'9", and someone looking for a racing bike would be about my size.
For those of you planning ahead, the seat tube diameter is 31.6, the steerer tube is 1 1/8", and the bottom bracket has italian threading (24x36). You will need longer bolts for your brakes, as this is a carbon frame.
What you get with the package:
1. De Rosa frame with matching fork.
2. Campagnolo Record Hiddenset headset
3. Campagnolo Record Seatpost with matching campagnolo assymetric binder
4. Campagnolo barrel adjusters for the downtube derailleur guides
What you don't get with the package:
1. The whole bicycle
2. A really pretty, blemish-free bicycle frame that has been hanging above my living room couch for the past two years. I have ridden this bike approximately 12k miles. It has no crash damage, but it looks like a bike that has been ridden around a bit.
3. A lemon. This bike is the tits, and if you decide you don't like it, just send it back and I will refund your money (minus shipping costs).
Thanks for looking, and happy bidding.
On 5/20/8, I added a schematic from the De Rosa website, depicting the measurements of the frame, both in real dimensions and virtual dimensions, to convert sloping geometry to standard geometry. The measurements given in the question response below are the exact measurements for this bicycle frame.
