You are viewing a 2005 Taylor 214E 6 string guitar. The guitar has the solid Sitka Spruce top and being a 2005 model, has a SOLID Sepele wood back and sides that Taylor was using then. Today's models use a LAMINATED Rosewood back annd sides, which many consider a cost cutting cheapening of materials for the model. I recently purchased this guitar as a new condition guitar. Upon closer inspection I noticed a minor scratch on the top left "top" and two tiny dings on the top right. Niether could be photographed though. I'm calling this guitar MINT because it is essentially that. There is NO, I mean ZERO fret wear or signs of any real use to the guitar as if it were a store demo.. it even smells new. So, by true definition it can't be mint because of the minor scratch any tiny dings. But realistically it is in unplayed condition. Some particulars regarding this model include: 1 11/16 at the nut, Ebony wood fingerboard and bridge ( they now use rosewood ) 4 5/8 body width and chrome Taylor tuners. The Taylor ES-T electronics play flawlessly and infact sound great through my Fender Acoustasonic Jr. Amp. The genuine Taylor hard shell case has a few scuff marks and two minor dents that I can't explain. I bought the guitar to sort of off set the use of my Martin's I guess. I decided that I just personally don't like it as much as my Martin's and I'm afraid it just won't get played much.. what a waste! The action is wonderful, the sound is Taylor true, the neck is straight and comfortable to play. I tightened the hardware, conditioned the fingerboard and bridge with lem-oil, put on new genuine Martin SP extra light phos bronze strings and had the neck adjusted properly. A wonderful guitar in new condition with SOLID Sepele (African Mahogany) back and sides. Don't settle for a newer 214E with the laminated wood, grab this "next to new" solid wood 2005. Better sustained sound than laminate and last a life time. Don't forget it also has the genuine Taylor hard shell case and not the gig bag it originally came with. Additionally: I don't have any paper work, but it does include the Taylor Truss Rod Adjustment Tool!
