| 2006 Pu Jing Hao - Yi Wu Shan Wild/Feral 25gr. sample. Pu Jing Hao is a very small brand run by a group of taiwanese pu er collectors. A pure selection of leaves of rare wild/feral trees from Yi Wu collected at high elevation - more than 2000m. Some of the trees in that area were estimated to be more than 2000 year's old. Mr. Pen who went to collect the leaves himself claims that all the leaves in this tea comes from trees that are at least a thousand year's old. While this affirmation cannot be verified with accute precision, you are in presence of very old tree leaves. Stone pressed, a little harder than the 2005 previously offered here wich was very loosely pressed, but still a medium light compression. This 2006 is composed of big plump leaves, a lot of them purple color, mixed with some spring buds. Produces an amber liquor that shows a bold nose and a very thick broth that exhibits woody and fruity notes with a nice astringency that shows up after 4 or 5 infusions. Long lasting hui gan (aftertaste) with notes of tobacco and wood. As all pu er made from very old trees, it is very pleasant to drink in its youth. A rare chance to taste a true high elevation wild ancient tree pu er. DRINK TRUE TEA! Shipping weight is approximately 100gr. |
