These are very highly anticipated and extremely popular coins! This is the first issue of a 24 Karat Gold coin that the United States has ever made. The United States Mint did not strike ANY Gold Coins from 1933 through 1984. In 1984 the United States Mint minted the 1984 Olympic $10 Gold coin. All gold coins minted by the United States from 1795 through 2005 have been 90% gold coins. That era has come to an end with the 2006 $50 Buffalo coins. These coins are .9999 pure 24 Karat gold. These are the first and there beauty lives up to the expectation.
