John Wayne Wall Calendar: Standing 6’ 4 ½” tall John Wayne rose to become one of the world’s most beloved and admired actors. Born in Iowa in 1907, this son of a pharmacist made his first film appearance in 1930, and before his death in 1979 subsequently appeared in 250 movies, in several genres. Best known, perhaps, for his roles in Westerns—Stagecoach (1939) and True Grit (1969) for example—Wayne was equally at home playing war heroes—Green Berets (1968) and Sands of Iwo Jima (1949)—and enjoyed many diverse character roles. Browntrout’s John Wayne calendar showcases memorable photographs taken throughout his extraordinary life.
