| 2008 Pu Jing Hao - Yi Wu Shan Wild/Feral 357gr. cake. Pu Jing Hao is a very small brand run by a group of taiwanese pu er collectors. A pure selection of leaves of rare wild/feral trees from Yi Wu collected at high elevation - about 2700m. Some of the trees in that area were estimated to be more than 2000 year's old. Mr. Pen who went to collect the leaves himself claims that all the leaves in this tea comes from trees that are at least a thousand year's old. Stone pressed, very good compression, this 2008 wild/feral tree bing cha produces a deep golden liquor with tangy aromas and a very pleasing hui gan (aftertaste). A very balanced old tree that can delivers many infusions and is enjoyable right now altough it will benefit from further aging. I noted that the Pu Jing Hao cakes, especially the wild/feral series are becoming more balanced every year and this is probably due to the fact that these abandoned trees have been revitalized since 2003. The first vintages of these teas were pretty wild, both in nature and taste, but they are now showing a more complex structure. If the firsts vintages were teas ready to drink on their offering, the later ones should aged nicely. A rare chance to taste a true high elevation wild ancient tree pu er. DRINK TRUE TEA! Shipping weight is approximately 500gr. |
