When the door opened at Bristol Motor Speedway, Jeff Burton jumped through to claim his 20th career Sprint Cup victory and his first at the famed high-banked track. Although Burton did not appear to have the fastest car of the day, he was right there when the laps wound down and positioned his team to take the checkered flag. A significant win in Burton's career, it was also a very significant day for Richard Childress Racing. Following Burton to the finish were his teammates Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer giving RCR their first podium sweep in the company's history.
