Available is one the most handsome U.S. silver dollars created. Similar to the Walking Liberty design of years' past, this coin is a little larger than the U.S. "cartwheel" Silver Dollars. It is a pure silver coin (.999 fine silver), cut out, then set in a sterling spring back style money clip.
The coin was minted for bullion collectors and weighs ONE TROY OUNCE (before cutting).
This is a premium detailed cut coin designed for the most discriminating man - one that appreciates fine craftsmanship.
The special cut coin includes full cut details -- a full 100% crafted cut coin, including the words, "L I B E R T Y," and "2 0 0 9," and the very tiny lettering "I N G O D W E T R U S T." Notice that the "O," "R," and "D" letters are carefully in and cut around, as are the "0," and "8" in the date. An incredibly detailed cut.
How was this coin cut done?
About 20 tiny holes were originally drilled in the coin, then, using a small jewelers saw, the background of the coin -- the flat part -- was "cut away" by hand by a patient craftsman. The remaining design you see appears to be "floating" within the coin's rim, but as you look closely, each of the sun's rays, and letters, are securely attached as a result of a "diamond cut." A diamond cut, is an angled cut where the attachments are cut at an angle to give the illusion of floating.
