Flip over the standard Norton user screen to get view of recent events (such as downloads, installs and scans) on your computer, giving you the information you need to research and analyze problems with your PC. You can also see how much CPU and memory your PC has been using so you can instantly see if recent events impacted your resource usage.
On-demand, Norton will run a quick optimization on boot items and files that you commonly use to optimize their performance on your PC. However, we've been careful to keep automatic optimization out of your way by scheduling these activities only during times when your PC is idle and after you've installed something new.
Norton identifies what level of resource usage each application on your PC requires. You can see this easily for all currently running processes in the application ratings. By clicking on the memory or CPU usage graphs in Norton System Insight you can identify which application was responsible for a resource usage spike.
Norton AntiVirus is careful to stay out of your way when you are using your computer.
Norton stays out of your way by performing non-critical security tasks when your computer is idle. When you return to using your computer the Smart Scheduler automatically halts activity and reschedules it for when your computer will be idle again.
Silent mode suspends alerts, updates and other background activities to avoid interrupting or slowing games, movies and other full-screen activities. Silent Mode automatically activates when you enter full-screen mode on your PC or a click on the task bar turns on Silent Mode for a set time. It also automatically recognizes when you are burning disks or recording TV.
