One FEE-20-12 (19.8 Watt) Amorphous Silicon Solar Panel

Here is an outstanding 19.8W solar panel by Free Energy Europe, this 5th generation amorphous silicon panel is made in France to serve the European market - much better quality than those 'made in China' panels. This amorphous panel produces electricity even during cloudy weather or partial shade - tests have shown that you can get approximately 15% more power over time compared to single-crystal or multicrystalline panels. This is a completely sealed panel with a glass cover (front and back) and injection-molded frame, unlike aluminum framed panels which have open corner joints and sheets of plastic as moisture barriers. The panel comes with four stainless steel clips which attach to the panel for permanent outdoor mounting. You can just crimp/splice the 3 foot cable leads to the SunGuard controller and mount it up there as well, since it's fully sealed with no exposed screws or terminal strips to worry about.  The SunGuard prevents the battery from discharging through the solar panel at night, so no blocking diodes are needed.

The FEE-20-12 solar panel has an expected lifetime of at least 20 years and is fully sealed against moisture. The tandem junction amorphous silicon is sandwiched between glass sheets and sealed within an injection-molded polymer frame. The stainless steel mounting clips attach directly to indentations in the fame, but no mounting holes penetrate the frame - it remains completely sealed. The panel is rated for 19.8 Watts peak, with maximum current of 1.23 amps. It has an open circuit voltage of 22.8 volts and a short circuit current of 1.45 amps. The panel size is 12.3 inches by 40.0 inches, with a thickness of only 0.54 inch, and a weight of 10 pounds. This is a brand-new and unused panel in the original carton. The MorningStar SunGuard SG-4 solar  battery charge controller is rated for 4.5A, so up to 3 panels can be added to this system. The SunGuard provides true Pulse Width Modulation charging, which protects the 12V battery by reducing the charge current (duty cycle) as full charge is reached.  Same charging circuit as the popular SunSaver series in a fully-encapsulated epoxy potting!
