This beautiful guzheng is Sound of China's custom-made signature piece! It is brand new made with one-piece natural air-dried paulownia sound board. The frame is made with rosewood with Chinese painting of Scenery. The sound is sweet, bright with well-resonant bass.
As you can see from the pictures, the sound board is air-dried preserving the natural wood color. It is not like the flame-dried charcoal piece you see elsewhere. The air dried sound board retains the natural color of wood. Although flame drying speed up the drying process from 1 year to 1 day, it fatally destroys the wood piece. We've seen charcoal boards crack or change shape in a short period of time. Furthermore, the "warm wood sound" of a wood instrument is gone.
