I PREFER THEM OVER THE STERLING SILVER MOUNTINGS WHEN I MAKE STERLING SILVER JEWELRY AS THEY ARE EASIER TO MOUNT THE STONE IN (THE BEZEL IS SOFTER) AND THEY ARE A LITTLE SAFER TO SOLDER AS THEIR MELTING POINT IS HIGHER THAN THE MELTING POINT OF THE STERLING MOUNTINGS.
