Beautiful 23" CM Bergman, child doll with bisque head, sleep eyes, 4 upper teeth on composition ball jointed body. She has a beautiful creamy complexion with good modeling. Brows are multi-stroked, painted upper and lower lashes. Pate has been replaced. The antique dealer from whom I purchased the doll in 1998 stated that the wig was original to the doll. It is a human hair wig. She also stated that the head was by Simon Halbig. The head is marked Made in Germany CM Bergman. In the newest Jan Foulke Blue Book, the 23" size is listed under CM Bergman/Simon Halbig. I am not sure if this is significant with the ID. I am simply relaying what was on my paperwork for the doll. The doll's compo body is in very good condition given its age. There are some normal signs of wear on the body. The index finger on her left hand appears to have a factory defect as it is slimmer than the other index finger. The paint appears to be original with no repaint. The ring finger on the left hand must have been broken at some time and has had a repair, which is rather clumsy in appearance. Bisque head has no chips or cracks. Eye wax appears to be original and intact. Purchase price was $550.00 from an antique dealer, at a doll show. Doll has been displayed in a closed curio away from direct sun in my smoke free home. I accept Paypal for payment. I have guesstimated shipping. Ebay seems to have eliminated insurance from their listing options. If you win the auction and would like the doll insured, please let me know and I can add insurance to the final total. I will send an invoice which will have actual shipping costs, with or without insurance, per zip code or country if you will wait to make payment. As we are downsizing for a move, I would like to consider sales final. Thanks for looking. Feel free to ask questions. |
