25 Lower grade uncleaned AE3/4 Roman Bronze coins - over 1600 years old!
Most of these coins are smaller than a US dime. Irregular, chipped, holed ,bent or partial flans may be included.
I would consider these to be Lower grade coins w/ some coins showing detail. **BUT** please note that --------
*Grading coins is very subjective, look at the images, decide for yourself and bid accordingly.*
These coins are a Lower grade and expectations should be set accordingly -- not the best but not the worst. Ideal practice coins!
Not recommended for beginners, some flans may bechipped, holed or irregular - they can be difficult to clean!
Origin: Somewhere in Serbia - minted circa 200-420 AD. Makes a great classroom / familiy activity!

The designation AE 3/4 indicates this lot is a mix of Bronze coins which are of various sizes from 13-19mm. For comparison sake, a US Dime is 18mm. and a US Penny is 20mm. Generally speaking, the smaller coins are from later in the Roman Empire when metals used in minting began to become scarce.
Try to avoid overcleaning your ancient coins. Shiny and bright works fine for pennies, but not ancient coins. If you clean down to the bare metal you will probably lose all detail.They were made over 1,500 years ago --- they're supposed to look old.
Add a very small amount of a water softener, such as Calgon, to the distilled water your coins are soaking in. Soak for a few hours, remove, rinse and then soak them overnight in distilled water only. This helps in loosening the dirt and encrustations!
Inexpensive toothbrushes work very well for cleaning ancient coins. Buy two with Medium hardness and cut the bristles on one of them down about halfway. This will give you a firm brush for tough cleaning and a softer one for gentle cleaning.
