Elegant, single door salvaged from a recently renovated elementary school in
Northeastern Pennsylvania. The school was built during the early 1900's and
the door was original to the school's construction. The door is made of solid Southern Longleaf
Yellow Pine (not white pine) and is stained on both sides. There is a
gorgeous,
half-length, wavy, floral textured glass lite with 2 raised, horizontal panels underneath.
Hardware:
Besides a mortise lock, the door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good
selection of period hardware in our eBay store. If you buy the door and
a hardware set, we'll install the set for free.
* If you would like the hardware holes patched with a solid
block of antique yellow pine, we could do it--see
"Additional Services" below.
Condition: The door is in good shape with only superficial
scrapes and scratches.
If you prefer a cleaner look, we could refinish or paint the door --see "Additional Services" below.
The glass is intact and in excellent condition.
Width: At some point, the hinge stile of the door was cut,
and it looks disproportionate to the lock stile. I've seen worse, but you
may still prefer to have the lock stile cut to match, or have the hinge
stile added onto, to match the width of the lock stile. We could increase or
decrease both width and height of the door--see "Additional Services" below.
Swing: Once installed, the door would swing inwardly
towards the left. However, we could adjust it to swing towards the right--see "Additional Services" below.

Additional Services:
1.
Framing: We could make a pine frame for the door for $110.
With the frame built, all you would have to do is finish the frame with the
paint or stain of your choice, and then connect the 3 parts of the frame and
attach the door to the frame. Framing requires precise measuring and
cutting; with this step out of the way, installation would be much easier
and quicker.
2.
Stripping: We could completely remove the
finish from the door allowing you to refinish for $215. If you plan to paint
the
door, we could scuff-sand one door making it smooth, and paint ready for
$60.
3. Finishing & Painting: Once stripped, we could stain and seal,
varnish, shellac, etc. or we could repaint the door. Email us with what you
would like done and we'll give you a quote.
4. Height Change: We could cut the door to make it shorter
for $20/cut, and we could also add to
it, to make it taller for $35/addition. Please note that if we add to the door, the
addition would be very noticeable if stained, and is only recommended if you
are going to paint the door or stain it a dark color.
5. Width Change: We could cut the door
to make it narrower for $25/cut, and we could also add to it, to make
it
wider for $60/addition. Please note that if we
add to the door, the addition would be very noticeable if stained, and is
only recommended if you are going to paint the door.
6. Hardware Removal & Hole Patch: We could patch
the hardware holes of the old entry set for $55.
7. Swing Change: We could adjust the door to swing inwardly
towards the right for $35.
