New 2008 Models now being built. See some of our other types of trailers on EBAY.
We are BRUTE TRAILERS 903-982-7103. A high quality builder of Heavy duty Gooseneck,Tag Trailers, tilt deck & hydraulic dovetail trailers, dump trailers and now sliding axle trailers. 12,000gvw-75,000gvw
Please note that although we are at the midpoint of the price range, ( there are a lot cheaper, but you get what you pay for) we will deliver higher quality and better finish than more expensive brands like the largest 3 manufacturers in the U.S. which are based in North Texas. For example, Big Tex (2 of them use off brand axles, we use only Dexter axles.) Dexter uses all U.S.A. made components. 2 other U.S. based axle manufacturers use Asian made spindles and hubs. One of the companies do not even heat treat their spindles.
Another note about any of our EBAY auctions. We have been selling trailers on EBAY since mid 2002. We offer the longest warranty in the business. Look at our other hydraulic specialized trailers on Ebay, you will see who has the technical and professional background to build the best trailer.
Brute Trailers, Inc The only trailer out there designed by mechanical engineers.
Several new features added as of 01-02-08
All wiring connections use only butt splice connectors. The typical scotch wire clip that squeezes over the uncut wire and cuts through the plastic to make contact with the copper usually fails within a year. (cna be less if salt or calcium cloride is used on the roads to melt snow and ice.
2 front steps and grab bars are now standard
Load jacks at the rear of trailer to keep the rear of your truck from lifting up when loading heavy loads on dovetail. (Some of our competition uses a broken tail design with the ramps almost on the ground. Problem with this design is that your bumper is less than 12" off the ground which hits any rough ground all the time. Our competition will also use double hinged ramps. The problem with those is that when your heavy load is on the dovetail but not on the ramps, it will kick the ramps up in the air, thus loosing any ability of their ramps to keep the rear of truck on the ground).
Continuous Cap rail, not pieced together.
We use #1 or #2 Select gradetreated southern yellow pine treated with ACQ which has a lifetime warranty against wood rot. Be careful, others are using #3 or #4 grades of lumber. You can check it easy by looking at the grade stamp on the lumber.
New standard feature. All jacks are now bolted on, not welded on. For any servicing or warranty repair, the jack is easily removable, doesn't have to be cut off and rewelded. Most other manufacturers still weld on the jacks.
New standard feature. Chain keepers to keep ramps from flipping over and bouncing on pavement. (any one that has a dovetail trailer with flip over ramps deals with this with rough roads on a regular basis).
Another new standard feature (as of Nov 1, 07) all deck screws are 5/16" cadmium plated self tapping screws.(Our competition uses 1/4" black screws that often break and rust out quick) We have spent over 6 months testing these heavy duty screws out and they work much better than the old 1/4" ones.
Another new standard feature as of Nov 1, 07. Our Dexter axles are ordered with adjustable HD suspension. This feature allows you to align the trailer if ever needed such as hitting a curb hard and bending the spring. No longer will you have to worry about your trailer running down the road crooked.
ALL OF OUR TRAILERS HAVE 12 GAUGE WIRE TO THE ELECTRIC BRAKES (NOT THE MUCH THINNER 16 GAUGE WIRE EVERY ONE ELSE USES IN THE TRAILER BUSINESS.) WE RUN A SPECIAL JACKETED LOOM WITH THE EXTRA HEAVY WIRE)
Another new feature as of Nov 1, 07. All main frame crossmembers are fully profiled to fit into the main frame where there is a 100% welded contact. (Most others simply cut the corners of the crossmember at a 45 degree angle leaving a huge gap which can cause large cracks at that joint when under heavy stress)
This trailer is rated for 25,000 GVW, BULLDOG coupler is rated at 25,000 lbs. accuracy is important so you don't get fined by DOT, they can fine you up to $5000 for an overloaded trailer. This means you can haul up to an 18,000 lb backhoe with our trailer. Other brands of trailers are considered overloaded with anything over 13,000lbs. (almost all of these trailers (ours, theirs etc) weigh over 6500lbs.
There is no better trailer built. We are not the cheapest, just the best. We use MIG welding by certified welders. All joints are cut on a metal cutting bandsaw or plasma system.
We magnaflux all frame joints to insure weld penetration (we are the only medium duty trailer manufacturer to do this. the big guys do it all the time) Prior to painting we grind all welds and deburr for a minimum of 12 man hours, then wire brush all steel with carbide brushes, wash down with lacquer thinner. We are now phosphoric acidizing the frames to eliminate all loose mill scale then wash down again.
Specifications
27' flat, 5' self cleaning dovetail.
NOW 102" wide is standard
Torque tube(reduces left to right sway if loads are off center) Others charge up to $375 to do this (Others claim their trailers don't need a torque tube because their trailers are "better built") basic engineering dictates that any heavy loads either left or right of center of gravity is going to cause extra stress on the frame. The torque tube ELIMINATES any off C.G. squat that will occur.
16" centers on crossmembers.
2 10,000lb rating Dexter oil bath axles with heavy duty electric brakes on both axles. Brake size is 12 1/4" x 3 3/8" wide, forward self adjusting.
8 16" rims with new 7.5x16 10ply rated tires
Main frame is 12" X 19lb A50 High tensile (50,000psi) steel Ibeam. Frame ribs between rails is also 12" Ibeam. Neck is now 12" Ibeam standard(up from 10" channel) Be careful, others are claiming on Ebay to have High Tensile. Only 2 mills in North American produce certified A50 High Tensile, both on the east coast (the rest produce A36) and we are the only trailer manufacturer buying from both. Outer cap rail is 5"x 6.7" heavy channel (not cheaper 5"x3"x1/4" angle others use)
Neck risers are 54" tall versus conventional 48" (if your truck is 4wd or lifted, it won't bash in your truck bed)
Rubrail is much heavier 2" x 3/8" thick, welds up to stake pockets.
Main frame connector members are also 12" Ibeam. Our crossmembers are cut to fit and fully welded and all sides - this provides a stiffer frame and less area for rust. Others use much lighter materials and stitch weld their pieces.
Gooseneck bend (where gooseneck dips down toward coupler) is laminated (or fishplated) with 8" x 1/4" plate to double the strength of neck at weld joint.
Gooseneck gussets are formed with the long edge bend at 90degrees to main plate (stronger and a smooth edge that won't cut you).
Compound spring assist (light lift from ground up, 30% lift assist from deck up). ramps fold flush with deck, can be diamond plated for more floor area.
Ramp body is fabricated from 1/4" cold formed plate steel. Others on Ebay are using 1/8" plate steel on their ramps. You will be replacing their ramps when they bend and brake off.
Jack handle is supported at outside of trailer edge with a sleeved bracket.
Dual 12000lb drop leg jacks by Bulldog. Jack arm is braced right out at jack handle. Jack bar between jacks is bolted not welded (when welded they're never quite straight, makes jacks really hard to move up, down. Many other manufacturers weld them to save time)
Net trailer weight is approx 7000lbs
Treated Southern Yellow Pine #1 or #2 Select grade "high density truck flooring"
Deck screws are 5/16" grade 8 self tapping and cadmium plated
Break-away brake controller
Dual Gooseneck safety chains (grade 7 DOT rated) with hanger bracket to hold chains up when not in use.
Bulldog 25,000 lb adjustable gooseneck coupler (approx 14" of adjustment)
We use 1 coat teckol rust inhibitor primer, 2 coats high gloss acrylic enamel paint with a gloss enhancer. Many colors available at no extra cost.
We prime with a special rust preventitive RED OXIDE PRIMER and PAINT entire trailer even up underneath. Many others trying to cut corners only prime underneath. We also deck the trailer after painting, we don't deck then paint (a real cheap way to do it). See the red primered trailer below for what the primer looks like. Also se the fully painted frame. 2 coats inside and out
DOT approved reflective tape, pinstriping is provided at no extra cost.
Our trailers are issued with an SAE approved serial number and an MSO for you to obtain a title.
