We are now custom building engines to suit our customer’s needs. In the past we tried to have several engine types completed & available for immediate shipment. However the engines that were completed almost always required disassembly & customization to meet the customer’s requirements. It is for this reason we are no longer completing reconditioned engines. Our listings depict some of the typical engine types we have available but they are not completed & ready to ship the day you place the order. We can however offer reconditioned, custom built VERTICAL shaft Briggs & Kohler V-TWIN engines that are a suitable replacement for just about any type or configuration ever made. All of our engines are the larger 44 cubic inch (725cc) type or larger. In the case of the Briggs we can replace any V-Twin engine with a model number starting in “40” or “44” regardless of hp. In the case of Kohler we can offer a suitable replacement of any vertical shaft V-Twin engine from 18hp through 30hp (The Kohler V-Twin have the same external dimensions regardless of hp). We can also offer a solution when replacing the older Briggs or Kohler flat head opposed twin vertical shaft engines by using one of our V-Twin engines with some minor modifications. It is for this reason we ask that you please allow 7-10 business days to complete the engine you purchase from us.We can still ship the new engines we have listed within 2-3 business days if we have them in our inventory. NOTE:All of the newer Kohler engine use a 6 cavity connector with round terminals. Recently we sold some engines to replace older Kohler engines with the 4 or 5 cavity connector & flat terminals. It was a bit difficult for some of the buyers to determine how to modify their equipment wiring to match the new engine harness. If you purchase a reconditioned from us & would like the engine equipped with a harness that matches your old engine, we will try to accomodate you for an additional charge of $38.00. We will now be stocking the most popular engine harnesses to make this conversion. If we have to order your harness from Kohler we will need a few days to obtain it & convert the purchased engine to the other harness design. Using this option will make the installation a slam dunk. Now available with optional DSAI, Kohler's latest ignition system for improved HP & Torque (See Picture Below). DSAI Upgrade cost is $125.00 Top Mount Controls (required with commercial mufflers) $65.00 Bottom Mount (Black Muffler in pictures) Muffler available for an additional $99.00 if purchased with engine. The selling price for the engine does "NOT" include our material costs for packaging the engine. These engines weigh about 90-100lbs, Shipping, Packaging & Handling is $95.00 in the lower 48 states this includes $38.00 worth of NEW packaging materials. Actual Typical shipping costs are average $60-$65.00 from FEDEX or UPS. Engine is shipped in NEW HD 22"x22"x22"carton with rigid foam packing & "INSTAFOAM" packaging & to reduce the risk of shipping damage. Pictures are of a typical engine we have hundreds of engines so the engine we ship you may not be identical in appearance to this one. However it will be a CV740 Series 27hp Kohler commercial engine with excternal oil cooler etc. Air cleaner cover type will vary. We have hundreds of engines available. 27 HP Kohler PRO Vertical Shaft V Twin Engine Reconditioned Commercial Series Engine This engine features All of the OEM Kohler updates to improve durability etc Equipped with electronic ignition advance system for increased torque & HP. If you are replacing another Kohler PRO engine the controls could be transferred from your existing engine. Muffler available for an additional $95.00 if purchased with engine. Hydraulic lifters Heavy Duty Air Cleaner with outer foam protector External Oil Cooler (Either Cast Aluminum or Fin & Tube Type) Hydraulic Lifters Compare at over $2200.00 at most sources This engine has been reconditioned using OEM Kohler Parts. Available with 1 1/8"x4 5/16 or 1 1/8"x3 5/32" or 1" X 3 5/32" crankshaft. Please send us your original engine model & spec number so I can verify the correct shaft size etc. The engine has been run on our test bench to insure there is nothing wrong & is in "LIKE NEW" Condition now. It is a very sound great running engine. The 27hp Kohler engines are very rare. They are equipped with a special ignition advance module that increases torque & HP. This engine is also unique in that it has the external oil cooler for very heavy load commercial applications. Engines are shippid with either shroud mounted oil cooler radiator or a cast aluminum oil cooler. Will fit most AYP products with electric blade clutch. Is also a good fit for many commercial application Like Ferris, Dixie Chopper etc. & includes Sears, Huskavarna, John Deere, Cub Cadet etc. Will replace Briggs, Kohler & Kawasaki V Twin engines from 20hp to 27hp if correct exhaust is used. We recommend Mobil One Synthetic 10W30 oil for all of our engines. Includes new oil & fuel filters.
As long as you use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10W30 oil & change it every 50 hours or once a year & check it every two hours of operation it should last well over a 1000hours. Most engine failures I see are due to lack of maintenance including regular oil, oil filter & air filter changes or the use of poor quality oils. Small air cooled engines run much warmer than automobile engines & regular oils break down quickly at these temperatures. Good quality synthetic oils are made to withstand these extreme temperatures & extend the life of the engine greatly. Guaranteed to run when received.. We now offer a 3 month exchage policy. Buyer pays shipping costs to return to us. Engines subject to our inspction to determne exhange acceptabil;ity. Engines showing obvious signs of abuse will not be exchanged. Shipping, Packaging & Handling is $95.00 in the lower 48 states. Engine is shipped in HD carton with foam packing & outside strapping to reduce the risk of shipping damage.
