Here is a beautiful lot of antique Chelsea porcelain dishes perfect for a 19th Century luncheon or tea service display. This group includes 28 pieces including the tea pot with lid, creamer pitcher, a waste bowl, two sandwich or dessert platters, and eleven each tea cups and saucers. This fine old porcelain is quite delicate and I love the design of the handles on these cups. These pieces are all primarily white with a lavender design I believe may be the Adderley pattern. The tea pot stands 7 1/2 inches tall and measures 10 inches handle to spout. The sandwich plates measure 9 1/2 by 9 3/4 inches. The waste bowl has a 6 3/4 inch diameter and stands 3 1/2 inches tall. The creamer pitcher stands 5 inches tall and measures 5 inches across handle to spout. The saucers have a six inch diameter and the tea cups have a 4 inch diameter. They measure 2 1/2 inches tall when the cup is on it's saucer.
The two sandwich plates, the creamer pitcher, all the saucers and seven of the tea cups are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or hairlines. This is old porcelain so there are a few flea bites and imperfections, some of which may be from factory. Six of the pieces do have damage issues which I show clearly in my final three photos, though I note all pieces do have a "good side" for display purposes. These include a large curved crack to one side of the tea pot;a hairline crack down one side of the waste bowl; and hairlines to four of the tea cups - two about an inch in length, one about 2 inches in length and one down one side and back up the other side on the fourth cup. All are structurally intact and may actually be old repairs. Regardless of these problems, it's rare to fine such a nice collection of antique display pieces at such an affordable price.
