You are bidding on a complete set of 29 different red OPA tokens - except for the very elusive "MV" token. These tokens are in mint condition - right from the sealed boxes of the manufacturer, the Osborne Manufacturing Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. These fiber-composition OPA tokens were issued in 1944 during World War II. Each token has two letters stamped into the obverse and reverse, making it very interesting - and challenging - to come up with a complete set of the 30 different letter-combinations.
During WW II, each American family member received a book of ration coupons from the U.S. Government, Office of Price Administration. These ration coupons were needed (plus cash) to purchase such things as coffee, sugar, meat, butter, etc. In the event that the presented ration coupon was valued more than the established ration points needed for a given item, tokens were given as "change" by the retailer.
This group of OPA tokens includes the scarce "MM", "XC" and "YC". This is your chance to purchase a pristine group of these historic tokens that aren't offered very often.
We'll start the bidding at $12.95. USA bidders only. First Class postage is FREE.
Good luck!
