This large soft cover cover is 9.5 X 12.5 inches in size and has 161 pages. The book has ox-blood covers with black hinges andspine, plus gilt lettering on covers anspine. The book is in better than very good consition with the very slightst rubbing to cover edges. This is a dessirable, clean, tight, and unmarked copy. The content includes ancient myths, worlds populated by gods and giants which were apparently invented by the imaginative Norsemen centuries ago. Everything from the creation of the world to daily events and supernatural occurrences form the basis for these incredible, fun and fascinating stories. To complete this great book is a Reader's Companion at the back: a combination index, glossary, pronunciation and reader's guide. Overall a nice find, and a strength is that this is gorgeously illustrated.

This large pictorial hardcover is 9.5 X 12.5 inches in size, and is clad in tan faux leather with darker tan lettering.  The book is in very good plus condition with only a previous owner dedicatory inscription on front end papper. The dust jacket condition is surpisingly good despite price clipped, with small corner chips and bumps and back flyleaf tear repaired. Ingri & Edgar Parin d'Aulaire (illustrator). Though NOT a first edition, it is an earlier printing in a large format. Other than the endpaper inking, there are NO interior markings, so the book appears fresh and attractive under a one chip vivid dust jacket with modest wear. Beautifully illustrated and an interesting title.
