The Apple Mac repair manuals call this a Black Stick; also called a Spudger or a Soldering tool.  Apple selected this tool specifically for its long, thin shape and relative durability. When used to work on laptops and desktops, it constantly outperforms the short, fat, brightly colored tools used to open iPods and it will give you an unparalleled service life.

You can see from the photo how much easier (and cleaner) it is to pop open a Mac with one of these (BTW - that's one of our techs installing custom color covers on an iBook).  Apple techs use this tool to open Powerbook, Mac Mini, iBook, MacBook, and other Mac cases without damaging or scratching the cases or components (the tools you receive in this auction are not model-specific and will work on any of those machines).  Purchasing this pair will make your work even easier by giving you a second, non-marring, non-conductive tool to hold long seams open.

This ESD safe repair tool is constructed from 33% glass-filled heat-resistant nylon plastic. It features a pointed tip to hold components while soldering, a flat screwdriver-shaped blade for spudging leads and opening cases, and a notch to assist in hooking wires and leads.  It is also very useful for coaxing wires into place when re-closing the case.
