THIS TOOTH HAS VERY BEAUTIFUL COLORS. THE CONDITION IS OUTSTANDING AND THE SERRATIONS ARE AS SHARP AS THEY CAN BE. I HAVE ONLY SEEN A FEW TEETH LIKE THIS AND I HAVE SEEN MANY BEAUTIFUL TEETH, THIS ONE IS A PRIZE. IT MEASURES A LITTLE OVER 3 13/16 ON THE LONG SIDE 3 11/16 ON THE SHORT SIDE AND IT IS ALMOST THREE INCHES WIDE. THERE ARE WRINKLES IN THE BACK BUT IT IS HARD TO TAKE A PHOTO OF THIS. ATRUELLY RARE TOOTH. THIS IS A CARCHARODON MEGALODON, THE KING OF THE MIOCENE SEAS!! THESE SHARKS REACHED LENGTHS OF UP TO 50 FEET OR MORE. IMAGINE A SHARK THAT BIG LINED WITH HUNDREDS OF RAZOR SHARP TEETH?? GOOD THING THEY ARE EXTINCT. THESE MAGNIFICANT FOSSILS ARE FOUND ON THE US EAST COAST AND RANGE IN AGE FROM 5 TO 18 MILLION YEARS OLD AND ARE FROM THE MIOCENE EPOCH. FOR OVER 30 YEARS I HAVE COLLECTED FOSSIL SHARKS TEETH. IT IS A PLEASURE THAT I CAN OFFER THEM TO THE PUBLIC AND ENHANCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF OUR PAST.
