Larimar is a rare and exotic new gemstone (blue Pectolite NaCa2Si3O8(OH) ) Found in only one very small geographic location in the world – inside the crater of an extinct volcano in the Sierra Bahoruco mountain range on the Caribbean Island of Hispaniola.
Each stone is uniquely different ranging in color from shimmering aqua blue to deep sky blue with interesting white patterns. Larimar is between 5 and 6 on the Mohs scale of hardness – 10 being diamond.
