We have here another wonderful find in our most recent Estate acquisition. These beautiful Antique Swiss Majolica Plates each have a Diameter of about 11 inches, and together, the group weighs approximately six pounds.

They have been given a very rich and vibrant green background, a wonderful setting for the beautifully detailed Flower and Leaf pattern on each. Although each plate's design is different, they all follow a similar theme and make for a lovely grouping.

The raised feel and appearance of the hand painted blossoms and their petals gives wonderful dimension and depth. Their undersides are all clearly marked 'Made in Switzerland'. They do appear to be quite old although we cannot really place a date upon them.

Two of the three still have their original wall hangers connected and the third, although not still connected, is part of this auction and will be shipped to the new owner together with the 3 plates.

Although quite a bit of their original glaze has chipped off, mainly around the edges and at their undersides, and there is also surface wear and age-related patina, they are nevertheless quite charming and delightful as they are. We do feel that in situations such as this, these 'condition' issues really impart the warmth, charm and character we so desire in our fine old collectibles.
