Three original photographs (one has been made into a postcard) of British Officers possibly in the Second Army, most likely taken during World War II.
All three Officers are mounted on horses and the photos have obviously been taken in the same location. One Officer is wearing a peaked cap, the other two berets on one of which it is just possible to make out a grenade badge. One is wearing Service Dress, the other two Battledress. All three appear to have the same formation badge on their left shoulder. This seems to be a cross within a flat topped shield. In the photo the cross appears dark against a light background so could this be the Second Army which used a blue cross on a white shield? Of course, there are other possibilities, the First Army used a red cross on a white shield and this might show up the same in a black and white photo. The insignia is not clear enough to tell whether there is a sword upon the cross.
One of the photos has been turned into a post card by the addition of printed lines on the back. The only writing on this card is in pencil "1116/4" and on one of the photos there is a similar "1116/4".
All the photos are approx 5.25x3.25".
Some slight marks but all are in very good condition.
Interesting photos for any British Army World War II enthusiast. If you would like close-up shots of any photo please let me know and I will gladly email them to you.
Will be sent securely packaged, in a bubble envelope well protected with thick card.
