This auction is for a set of three weaving books. Their contents and condition are described below. 1.) Frame Loom Weaving by Jane Redman, hardcover with dust jacket, 1976, 144 pages, Van Nostrand Reinhold Co. This book covers a lot of material in an easy-to-read style: making a frame loom (with or without heddles), yarns, design, finishing, and lots of techniques that are applicable to other types of looms (including rigid heddle). Learn about tapestry, pile weaves, soumak, lace weaves, and more! An excellent reference. Dust jacket shows wear but book itself in very good condition. Some writing in pencil inside front cover, otherwise unmarked. 2.) Weaving: Techniques & Projects, 1975, a Sunset Book by Lane Publishing, softcover, 80 pages. Excellent background info on what weaving is and how it works, directions for building a 4-harness frame loom, how floor looms work, info on tools and techniques applicable to other types of weaving equipment; a dozen or so projects that contain useful technique information although the projects themselves are dated. Covers are somewhat worn but pages & binding in good condition. 3.) The Xenakis Technique for the Construction of Four Harness Textiles, A.D. Xenakis, 1978, Golden Fleece Publications, softcover, 50 pages, excellent condition except for very small area of discoloration on upper corners of pages & price tag on back cover. This is an amazing way to weave more complex patterning on a rigid heddle loom. It is explained in detail and shown with lots of illustrations and charts so you can do it too! You can really expand what your loom can do with this technique. PAYMENT DETAILS: PAYMENT BY PAYPAL ONLY; payment must be within 3 days of auction end. Please do not bid if you are unable or unwilling to pay with Paypal. SHIPPING DETAILS: U.S. Addresses Only! Buyer pays $3 toward Media Mail shipping. |
