30" RARE Original RAVCA c1940 Composer WAGNER OOAK
Composition head Hand painted Extremely RARE
One-of-a-kind Wagner is from a series of Famous Composers created circa 1940 by French artists Bernard & Frances Ravca (we're offering three others: Beethoven, Haydn, Mozart). Wagner (1813-1883) has a hand-modeled papier-mache head on stuffed body with wire armature inside and stockinet hands with stitch-indicated fingers. The face is dramatically hand-painted, with molded painted black hair. Wagner's circa 1860 costume was hand-made by the artists with a black coat and vest, grey tweed pants, full shirt with black satin bowtie, and black oilcloth shoes. The coat has a velvet collar and satin-covered buttons, while cut-steel buttons 'close' the vest. The Ravca’s certainly produced a remarkable and realistic portrait of the composer!! Very clean from a non smoking home.

We ship UPS ground and insured for domestic shipments. We use USPS for international shipments. Shipping costs will vary depending on the size of item, type of packaging required and location being shipped to. We can only supply an EXACT quote once the item is packed and we have the exact weight and dimensions. All items shipped are insured (unless instructed otherwise at your own risk), packed with care and WELL PROTECTED. We ship via UPS, unless another carrier is specified. The International shipment quotes listed with the auction are an estimate. It could be more or less depending on the specifics of the shipment. Please include shipping address, zip code, desired method of shipping and insurance required for a closer estimate. Please note that large, heavy and/or fragile items or antiques will require additional time and cost to pack and ship.
Insurance is $1.00 per hundred that you wish to have insured. We strongly encourage all items shipped to be fully insured.
