The most popular flashes in the world, Vivitar 283/285/285HV's have originally a vivitar-type connection and need a replacement shoe (which I sell and install also). The good thing is that they need a replacement shoe anyway. Check my action for Vivitar 283/285 metal hot shoe foot/INSTALLED. Please consider also that m-m/male-male/double nipple/Flash Sync Cord/cable PC cord will be needed to trigger the flash through the cable when you replace the foot/shoe on Vivitar 285.
