Light Stands: These are excellent
quality, heavy-duty tubular light stands. These Brand New professional

(fully assembled) to a tad over 3 feet for easy packing, storing,

three vertical tubular sections, and three double-braced legs,

Barndoors: Barndoors
have movable and removable flaps, and mount on the front of the
lights, and constrain the light to the area we want it to illuminate.
Barndoors allow us to direct the light anywhere our creative
little photographic hearts desire! We can keep them wide open,
or close them down to a little slit when we want to highlight
a specific portion of our subject. Just one more of the useful

The Boom: This is a really great boom, and no photographic
lighting studio should be without one (or more). And, as with
all the items we offer, it is of top quality. You'll notice the
air-cushioned support legs, and the counterbalance bag.
A counterbalance or counterweight bag is
used to balance the weight of whatever light is being used at
the time. This makes it easy to place the light wherever you
want it, by equalizing the weight of the light with the similar
weight of the counterbalance bag, it makes it very easy to place
just where you want it.
So where and when do we need a boom? Well,
there are a million uses for photographic booms, but mostly we
use it for top lighting and for hairlights (what's a hairlight?
Did you ever notice in portraiture and in all the top magazines
how there's that beautiful, healthy-looking shine on the hair
of the models? How do you think that shine got there? Yep - the
Hairlight on a boom)! Can also be used as a back light, fill
light, or main light as well. Nifty, huh?
Basically, a boom / light stand is one
of the most useful pieces of photographic equipment you can own.
