30's PETAL CIRCLE IN A SQUARE & STAR SUMMER QUILT TOP

This cotton american petal circle in a square and pierced star patchwork summer quilt top is a graphic and visual vintage beauty, and is hand pieced, hand sewn and machine sewn only at the edge to form a hem. The pattern is completely hand sewn. The stars are appliqued on. This quilt top is made with fabrics from the 1930's. It measures a generous 86-1/2" x 113" and is in unwashed condition, and no wear, no rips, no fabric splitting or fading, and some small old age oxidation spots from years of storage. These will come out with its first washing and are shown in the photos. The stitching throughout are at 6 stitches per inch. The stitches are precise and consistent. This quilt is a wonderful sewn together work of art. The quilter put a lot of thought into the selections of materials to give the quilt a great visual look.
