30s POSH HIGH END Vintage Satin Fabric Drape LUXURY

In the 1930's there was a trend of design called Art Deco...with this trend came various new styles of houses in America...one was 'mock Tudor'...'arts and crafts' and yes even 'cottage'...bungalows were being built in the burbs in communities...many built around textile mills as small communities where the workers would live. At the same time there was also a more modern element coming out of Europe called Bauhaus...what a glorious period of infiltration to our designs of that time. Opulent...luxurious...chic...high end...were all attributes given to this new wave of style. High end satins were graciously adorning windows floor to ceiling in all of these style homes to create an atmosphere that would be what we now know as 'Hollywood Glam'. Its amazing that these old textiles are still around at all...let alone in amazing condition like never used. These were the types of fabrics women were waiting months for appointments with their high end decorator showrooms to get an appointment to view their exclusive sample books of these fabrics. Today these sample books are worth a fortune and make the most fabulous coffee table books.
This drapery panel is truly top of the line and has the most amazing colors...I'd say a cross between a red and purple..maybe a wine would be more appropriate. Nice and heavy and a drapery panel ready to hang from pleater tape at the top. Not an ounce of imperfection and a favorite of mine for displays...I even used it in my Ebay Store 'Hipasbury' photo as the back drop. You can imagine the worth of this panel is significantly higher than what I am asking to the right person...likely someone who is designing high end bags for boutiques or someone who is recreating the drama of the 30's in their own abode. Measures 47 wide x 88 long. Immaculate...pristine and in museum quality condition.
