- I-beams are extremely heavy and need large costly concrete piers under every point of contact to support the heavy loads. This results in a much more expensive and complicated foundation. Our buildings include a base rail that evenly distributes the weight around the entire perimeter of the building. This enables you to mount the structure to almost any flat, level surface keeping concrete costs to a bare minimum.
- I-beams typically weigh thousands of pounds each. They will require heavy machinery to lift the large beams into place. Renting a crane by the day is extremely expensive. Our steel truss systems are light and spaced every 4 or 5 foot on center depending on model. This makes the trusses easy to install without any need for cranes or heavy equipment. Just ladders and hand tools are required.
- I-beam buildings are typically not the easiest system to construct. Unless you can read engineering and construction plans, you will typically have to hire a contractor to erect it for you. Our buildings are designed primarily with the residential do-it-yourselfer in mind. Ever order includes a complete step by step manual with detailed pictures. We also send a free assembly dvd video.
