31" Tall Tesla Coil Sec 4.5 "x 18" Spun Aluminum Toroid

Greetings All:

(First a note on buying a Tesla secondary on eBay. Having purchased many myself in the past I can tell you many of the basic requirments can be hard to come by, ie,  the ends are not cut square, where the wire begins and ends are not secured properly, skips in the windings, using single build wire,  excess glue, varnish and finger prints all over the coil form. I won't sell anything I would not use myself)

You are looking at an 6.25 inch x  28 inch (approx.) Tesla Coil Secondary with a Brand New O.W.L. 4.5 inch  x 18 inch spun aluminum toroid.  It is wound on a 6 inch PVC form (6.25 inch OD) and is about 1200 turns of heavy, high temp #24 awg wire (HAPT). It's coated with Dolph's AC-43 insulating varnish. It's approx 31 inches tall with the included top end cap. Also included is a strong fiberglass internal bottom mount. 
  If you make a primary from 1/4  inch coppper tubing of approx 15 turns with 0.25 inch spacing,  you will have alot of flexability. With a 15 Kv 60 ma transformer you will need a tank cap of about .01 mfd to 0.02 mfd depending on your spark gap. The winding height is about 26.0 inches and 24 awg. If you plug it into one of the many Tesla Calculators you can see your options. A word on end caps. These are not stock PVC end caps. I spend alot of time modifying the stock end caps to make your coil look its best ( not like a piece of plumbing, LOL). As for the toroid, it just does not get any better than this, spun aluminum, welded, with no visible seams.  Resonate frequency with the toroid measured 128 kHz. My test unit produced streamers of over 50 inches!

These secondarys are machine wound from my lab. I personally supervise the quality of each one. Make some sparks!
