It usually ends with mixed  results. Much of the equipment available, and affordable for the do-it-your-selfer is simply not capable of producing professional quality results. Pair that with technical inexpierience... and you get,... well, not always what you expected, or were hoping for..   We offer Broadcast Quality, straight optical to digital chain signal on DVD, resulting in the finest film transfer available!     Our rates are the same now as they were in 1983!   FOR FILMS   One unit = 1 minute = $1.00 So, an hour of FILM on a DVD costs only $60.00 to have produced! FOR 35MM SLIDES  35mm slides are four (4) per unit and cost = $1.00   Film that is washed out, black, blank or otherwise unviewable and lasts more than ten seconds is deleted. So you don't have to pay for... and watch bad footage!   To make an order, begin by numbering your film reels,  in the sequential (normally cronological) order that you want them to appear on your DVD.  (Slides transfers are not charged by the minute, but still need to be numbered in sequential (normally cronological) order that you want them to appear. See above for 35mm slide rate.

Next, estimate the total time of your film footage.

3" reels = 3 minutes

5" reels = 15 minutes

7" & 8" reels = 30 minutes

 

FOR 8MM & Super8 FILM:

After calculating the total number of minutes, go to the order  tab in this listing and order the number of estimated minutes  = the  number of units to order.

FOR 35MM SLIDES:

the number of slides X .25 = the number of units to order.

 

THAT'S IT!

 

Remenber, you will only pay for the amount of minutes of running time that ends up on your DVD!

If you order 70 units, and your DVD ends up being only 50 minutes long, you will be credited back... or refunded $20.00

If, on the otherhand, you order 40 units and send 80 minutes of film, transfer will stop after 40 minutes and you will be notified by email and given the choice to order more units/time or returned your film and DVD where the transfer was halted.

In order to prevent such from happening, it is better to  slightly over estimate than under estimate.

A normal DVD will hold 2 hours of programs

The mastered DVD will have the beginning of each reel of film indexed as a program. So finding a particular program or film is made easier by using the program index at the start of the DVD!

Music is not available on the master DVD. It can be made available on copies .

Cost of DVD copies:

DVD copies without indexing and music.... $10.00 each

DVD copies with indexing and w/o music... $25.00 each

DVD copies with indexing and with music... $40.00 each

 

The only other cost is shipping... $10.00  for each order and this should be included in estimating how many units to order! There is no charge for the blank DVD master!

Insurance is included in the shipping charge for up to

$250.00 !

Turn around or processing time is usually no more than 3 days. The Holiday Season is the busy time for this service. Most of the year processing is same day!

Badly broken, excessively soiled, and poorly or un-spliced films will not be transferred!

It just can't be. Some is expected, and tolorated so don't worry about that!
