3rd Qtr.19thC. RARE GREEN FIELD ANTIQUE BORDJALOU KAZAK

EARLY ANTIQUE BORDJALOU KAZAK CARPET, Southern Transcaucasia, 3rd quarter of the 19th century (perhaps earlier?), and in excellent top collector condition. The exact size is: 4'-0" x 8'-2" (122 x 249 cm). An early specimen of a Bordjalou Kazak with a rare green field color and wide ivory borders. 100% natural, plant-derived, dyes. Natural wool warps and red wool wefts. Excellent overall medium pile condition. Both the top and bottom outermost guard borders were a bit ragged and they have been masterfully restored and the ends sewn back secure to prevent loss (see close up photo).
