Basswood Carving Blank |
| Basswood (Tilia
americana), or American linden, is a great, soft North
American wood to carve. This piece is dry
and light. It has been rough surfaced on four sides, but may require
additional planing or sanding. The wood is has some black and white
streaks from spalting. The finished product will only be limited
by your
imagination. Check out my other
basswood or different
species listings to combine shipping costs. |

| Smith Lumber is a small, family-owned business.
The current owner is the fifth generation of the Smith family to operate
the sawmill, performing complete lumbering operations from tree felling
to final milling. Most trees are cut on small tracts of timber, with
preservation of the forest community being a primary concern. Many
local craftsmen and woodworkers count on Smith Lumber to provide specialty
and hard-to-find pieces. |
